Reform Entitlement Spending:
- Pass my Social Security bill. My legislation saves $4.3 trillion without increasing taxes or cutting benefits. It is considered a “100% fix” by the Social Security Administration.
- Cap entitlement spending. My Economic Disaster Prevention Act will require Congress to limit the amount of spending on entitlement programs, forcing Washington to eliminate waste and overhaul unsustainable programs.
- Put a roadblock in front of new programs. Prevent the White House from expanding or creating new budgetary sinkholes like Obamacare. My bill will prevent Obama and any future administration from creating a new entitlement program.
Control Discretionary Spending:
- Cap discretionary spending. As many Americans are tightening their belts so should the federal
government. My Economic Disaster Prevention Act will place a cap on the amount of spending
on discretionary programs
- Cap the deficit. My plan will reduce and cap the budget deficit at 2 percent of GDP in 2019, which, at the moment, is 10 percent of GDP, the highest level since WWII.
Create Jobs:
- Stop tax increases. Keep the pressure on the Obama administration to prevent massive tax increases like Cap and Trade from gaining traction.
- Encourage business lending. Ensure banks have liquidity to lend to small businesses.
- Implement my Energy Employment and Public Lands Use Proposal. The Obama administration, lawyers and environmentalists are closing off Utah’s lands from energy development and job creation. My plan would reverse this alarming trend and put Utahns back to work.
Strengthen National Security:
- Protect our troops and defense efforts. Failure to rein in mandatory spending combined with cuts in the defense budget will leave our country unprotected. The health of America’s economy is a national security issue.
- Reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Develop and fund a balanced energy plan, which includes domestic energy production so America can reduce its dependency on foreign oil.
- Restore fiscal discipline. By implementing my Social Security bill and Economic Disaster
Prevention Act, we can secure our nation’s future.
